What Is Indie Capstone?

This is Craig Martelle’s private weekend retreats. You don’t need to know who Craig is to request a spot at one of these events, but investing your time and money takes understanding what he can bring to you. Check out the About tab for more on Craig.

No one will read your books if they don’t know they exist. The world paradigm where authors simply write and publishers give them money has been a decreasing market for authors. Just like you have to sell your book to a reader, the almost impossible sell is to a traditional publishing house. Save yourself the headaches and take charge of your career. Reap the rewards, too.

This isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme. Writing is hard work and to be accepted into an Indie Capstone weekend (only 10 to 12 authors will gather at one time to maximize personal engagement), an author must have already demonstrated the ability to finish at least one book. When Craig looks for the best mix of personalities, you won’t find a six-figure author in the same group with someone who has published only one book. You may find someone with twenty, though, who hasn’t realized success. What are those authors doing right? What are they doing wrong?

Indie Capstone is about sharing information, understanding the marketplace, doing a few exercises to sharpen your indie game, and learning what you need to take your business to the next level. You are one on one with Craig for an entire weekend.

Cost is $450 just for the event (transport and lodging is not included). You’ll have to make your own travel arrangements all the way to the hotel and cover your own hotel room at the venue (we’ll have a block rate). Craig will provide a breakfast snack, light lunch, a group dinner on Saturday and a breakfast snack and light lunch on Sunday. Craig will also provide copies of his non-fiction to all attendees (at least for the Fairbanks event because of logistics).

What will you get for this? Exclusive access. The camaraderie of a tight team where you’ll learn about each other and rely on each other moving forward. Continuing access to Craig through a private FB group, exclusive for each Indie Capstone weekend.

Future events will be held around the world, wherever Craig may be found, but planned far enough in advance to ensure he gets a vibrant mix of complementary personalities. Applying does not guarantee that one will be accepted for a weekend. There will be a great deal of competition for the spots, but that’s only because it starts with you.
